Abstract
Development in general, and the techniques and technology in particular, require continuous learning and acquiring new knowledge and skills. Therefore is adopted the principle of lifelong learning with a defined learning outcomes and output competences. Thus are also revealed learning problems after each level of education.
The paper presents the basic tenets of a new model adapted to the needs of students at higher education institutions, and market needs in a broader sense.
A classical model is also presented with its advantages and disadvantages, and a new hybrid model is developed, aimed to improve the efficiency of the studying process at a higher level.
Postulates on which the hybrid model is based must meet the quality criteria of studying.
