Abstract

In the course of ten working days in April 2010, experts from the Institute of Archaeology from Zagreb and the Valpovo Regional Museum in Valpovo began systematic field surveying of the Valpovo region. The cadastral municipalities of Zelčin and Harkanovci were prospected, and surveying of the Ladimirevci and Marjančaci cadastral municipalities commenced. In the cadastral municipalities of Cret, Brođanci, Petrijevci and Valpovo only individual sites were registered. Eighteen sites were registered, from prehistory through classical antiquity and the Early Middle Ages to the High Middle Ages and the modern era. Classical antiquity has the smallest share of sites, prehistory is somewhat more frequent, while the majority of sites belong to the Middle Ages.
