Abstract

In this article the question of the ground or basis for developing a new
understanding of the way in which the Hebrew-Christian Scriptures
were originated will be probed. The main thesis in this article is that the ground on which a new basic Christian theology regarding revelation inspiration can be developed is to be found at the level of the interpretation of the two agents that were necessarily involved in the production of the Scriptures. Briefly stated, a new theological model about the origin of Scripture is possible if the ground or basis for understanding God and the human spokesperson can be distinguished from previously existing models. The new model must, at the same time, be biblical in its interpretation of these two agents. Further aspects of the topic will be considered in later articles.
