Abstract

Each theologic tradition has been developing concepts that treated the reflexion of the relation of God, a man and the world. Feminist theology ofers new theological approaches by which basic categories of the traditional and patriarchal religion questioned, redefined, modified or rejected. The author chalenges reformist approaches that, out of the contemporary heritage, de-construct gender and exclusive, as wel as misogyny, postulates and query the religion from the standpoint of feminism. The increasing awareness on the depth of environmental crisis has inspired feminist female theologians to analyse the gender and environmentaly problematical parts of the doctrine. In this matter, Genesis is the starting point of the majority of analyses. The author questions some key problematic issues: are humans/men masters or keepers of the land; the creation of Eve as the endmost, out of which the inferiority of a female gender has been deduced for centuries; the Fal or Expulsion from Eden that is the fault of Eve, because of which women have been considered as the source of sin, evil, materiality, corporality and finiteness of living. In spite of the fact that traditional religion is patriarchal, reformist female theologians have pointed to emancipatory manner of segments of religious heritage they use in creating visions of a new environmental and sensible society with gender quality.
