Abstract

Until now the City of Križevci has not adopted the Sustainable Mobility Plan. Prior to adopting such a plan, the fundamental traffic study should be carried out in order to obtain important indicators
as basis for making the plan. Certain measures have been conducted, but there are still a lot of necessary activities that should be done in order to achieve synergy which is lacking in the implementation
of individual measures. Making a sustainable mobility plan would also enable the possibility of cofinancing by the EU funds. The paper analyzes the traffic system of the City of Križevci, also exploring
the acceptability of the proposed measures of managing the transport demand by the citizens. The research has shown that 14 out of 16 proposed measures would be suitable for implementation in
Križevci. The first three most acceptable measures are: the Pedestrian Zone with 91%, the City Traffic Safety Plan with 87% and the Public Bicycle System with 81%. The measures which did not achieve an appropriate level of acceptability are: Charging the Entrance into the City Centre with 25% and introducing the Eco-Zone into the centre of Križevci with 49%. The lack of acceptance for charging the entrance into the city centre and introducing the Eco-Zone may be interpreted through the introduction of additional travel expenses to the citizens of Križevci, along with the already existing parking fee in the city centre.
