Abstract
Some may assume that everyone can understand the Bible. Although
the basics of the plan of salvation may be grasped relatively easy there are some barriers to understanding the Word of God. The person that read the Bible does not read it in the languages in which it was written. Our modern culture and customs are hardly those of Bible times. Jesus Himself indicated the need of interpretation, especially concerning the predictions and prophecies about Himself in the Bible of His day. Understanding of Scriptures is at times complex and complicated. In this article author deals with the above mentioned issues giving several
examples of lifting barriers of understanding the Word of God.
