Problems of production and modernization of processing of milk in hilly-mountainous region of S.R. Macedonia

Abstract

The authors describe the production of cows and ewes milk in P. R. Macedonia. They conclude that during period 1970-1977. cows milk production increased for 53 %, but ewes milk production remains at the same level. The existing dairy plants capacities, with 80.000 tons in a year, are sufficient to process all cows milk produced. They propose measures for improvement of collecting and processing of ewes milk.
