Abstract

The article describes actions on dairy development in India. Under the name "Operation Flood II" for the period 1980-1985, remarkable progress should be achieved. It is expected to organize 10 million of milk producers' families in dairy co-operatives, increase milk production, build more than one hundred new dairy plants, and supply four metropolitan towns (Delhi, Bombay, Calcutta, Madras) and all towns under 100.000 inhabitants with pasteurized milk.
