Abstract

This paper discusses one specific problem in the field of performance writing, namely the relation between textual performativity and heterotopias which are defined as “other spaces of discourse” and can be found both in literature andtheatre. Two main questions emerge: how does writing perform and how does it challenge the performance in heterotopic spaces of literature and postdramatic theatre? Furthermore the paper tries to explain the (im)possibilities of performance writing to act politically inside the microphysics of power, in conditions where resistance transforms itself into norms and norms mutate into resistance. The key pillars of the discussion are the interferences between philosophical texts of post-structuralist provenance and art practices in performance writing, which deal with forces of in(ter)vention.
