Abstract
Andragogy theoreticians emphasize the difference in views on adult learning among the areas of Human resource development and Adult education. In the field of Human resource development adult learning outcomes are linked to the organizational control, while in the field of adult education, learning outcomes are located in the individual. Furthermore, Andragogy theoreticians emphasize that Human resource development practice is in harmony with the andragogical notion of independent self-concept, but should be perceived independently of other goals of Adult education. Information-communication technology (ICT) for learning becomes ever more present in the workplace. Hence, this paper presents review of literature in Human resource development, Adult education and the uses of ICTs in education. Special attention is devoted to the research studies that present the relationship between the use of technology in teaching and individual learner control. In order to obtain good performance outcomes, it is necessary to align the practice of Human resource development with effective Adult education. The use of technology in learning can contribute to this goal.
