Abstract
Workforce of the new economy comprises of millions of educated workers who are successful only when they put value to the information. Modern workers collect, modify, clarify and present information in a way that it corresponds to the needs of a specific workplace, but also to their interests and talents. Working in information economy requires high level of technical skills which, enhanced by the media, results in a higher level of lifelong learning.
During the last several decades the education of workers in developed market economies have spread onto four key sources: education that is provided within a company, education held by vocational organisations/associations, universities and schools. Many employees consider education as a part of their daily routine as much as using a laptop.
This paper analyses educational programmes for employees, which are delivered with assistance of new media – on-line education, in well-known and globally successful companies.
