Abstract

This paper suggests and outlines an urban consolidation model applied to existing suburban residential areas on a larger scale to correct challenges associated with urban sprawl and address changing urban needs in developed economies. The model was developed to engage, motivate and financially reward stakeholders involved with reoccurring revenue including existing homeowners, developers and city government. While the goal of the paper is not to define specific details related to the application of the proposed model, it does suggest a basic template that could be applied to different urban challenges.
