Abstract

The specimen composed from 108 ortopantomograms of ortodontic patients has been tested watching its developmental, morfologic and topografic characterystics of germs of the third permanent molar.
Valuation of factors that would directly and indirectly effect on the further evolution of the third permanent molar and, also on the begining of the tertial crowding and the decline of the existing disgnaty. Prognosis of the evolutional eruptive phasis of that tooth has been qualified as: — good, in 56,4% cases, when all the factors were prognosing the normal evolutional process. — indefinite, in 27,4% cases, when we could not determine the exact prognosis because the patients were to young or aberrations minimal. — problematical, in 10% cases, when it could but it didn’t have to exist the possibility of spontaneous correction of smaller evolutional aberations. — bad, in 6,2 % cases, when one or more factors were pointing out that third permanent molar will be retained and it will badly effect on the existing space conditions in the dental arch. The prevention of possible complications at the last prognostic group would consist, according to the author’s opinion of germectomy of the third permanent molar.
