Abstract

In the everyday dental routine the molars with periapical inflammation are usually extracted. For years at the Faculty of Stomatology in Zagreb we are practicing another method trying to preserve the normal masticatory function of the molars. Amputation does not satisfy the modern endodontic approach, therefore the author points out the necessity of an exact intraradicular preparation as a condition sine qua non of a succesful treatment of the molars with chronical periapical alterations. Of a great number of clinical cases the autor choses some typical ones, and in conclusion reccomends the above mentioned technique.
