Abstract

The paper presents the main features and corrosion mechanisms of copper, iron and their alloys. It also describes all phases of the conservation-restoration intervention: from preliminary research, to removal of corrosive sediments and discovery of the original layer, to recommendations for artefact storage and maintenance. The artefacts treated were a copper-alloy fibula and an iron knife from the sites of Jokina Glavica and Duševića Glavica at Krneza.
