Organization of fire protection on the island of Rab

Abstract
Fire protection on Rab island consists of a well structured fire prevention and a strong, well-skilled executive command.Fire prevention measures are oriented towards a rapid fire suppression, andin case of an actual fire its early detection and quick extinguishment. Fire prevention is being carried out by all inhabitants of the island,which can be considered a social phenomenon. Firefighting squads are constantly preparing for all challenges they are facing, thus increasing fire prevention. Every operational measure proved to be extremely useful during larger fires, which ravaged the island in July 2012.
