Abstract

We checked the applicability of the approach to children’s competences in the kindergarten in the canton of Bern in Switzerland on the sample of preschool children in the kindergarten “Trnoružica” in Zagreb, using the scale of assessment titled Catalogue of Learning Objectives. It has been found that certain types of competences are equally developed in children. We did not find statistically significant differences between boys and girls in the specific competencies. We found statistically significant differences between educational groups in the development of individual competencies, as well as in the overall result of the Catalog of Learning Objectives. The possibility of generalization of the results of this research is limited, mainly due to the intentionally small sample of participants. We assume that the Catalog of Learning Objectives could be useful in the practical work of educators, with some metric improvements.
