Abstract

Successful implementation of the new organizational principles in dealing with the physical planning issues depends on the legislation. Laws on physical planning were amended during the transitional period of the political system in Slovenia. The new legislation made provision for the involvement of private and public sectors in physical planning. The problems, however, occur in the implementation phase due to intricate and long-lasting procedures involving several participants. It obviously discourages the private sector. As a result, the users cannot fully benefit from the integration of private and public sectors.
