Abstract

This paper presents the monument to the Czech writer Viktor Dyk situated on the island of Lopud and designed by the architect Nikola Dobrović in 1936. In addition to a short review of Dobrović’s work in Dubrovnik as well as his practical, theoretical and journalistic engagement in the field of memorial architecture, the paper focuses on a detailed study and interpretation of this particular work of art which has remained unknown to the present day.
