Abstract

The article shows the results of research into newly created Web3D technologies that allow three-dimensional contents to be interactively shown on web pages. The Web3D technologies and the tools analysed and described in the article are divided in two groups. The first are tools for creating and describing 3D objects and the second are tools and technologies for creating and showing 3D scenes. The article describes differences between particular tools from the aspect of purpose, functionality, structure and requirements for prior knowledge, and their current potentials and limitations in relation to application in architecture.
