Abstract
The article discusses the development of the concept and model of educational orientation in Croatia, particularly with regard to the reform of the educational system. The situation in Croatia is compared to current approaches toward orientation in other European countries, and the concept and practice of orientation are directed toward an integrated model. This general framework of orientational models is placed in a hermeneutical relationship with the approach to vocation in the school environment. There is a brief presentation of the development of the concept and practice of vocational orientation in Croatia, indicating the limitations and advantages. The topic of orientation is then related to Catholic religious education and an analysis of its dimensions of "vocation" in subject programming. For this purpose, several indicators are singled out from the model of secondary religious education and its contribution is determined regarding educational orientation for perspective vocations, noting several hypothetical possibilities, for which the most important prerequisite is the educational relationship between students and teachers of religion.
