Dispersion and Stylistic Function of Biblisms in Miroslav Krleža’s Drama “Adam and Eve”

Abstract
Th is excerpt of the PhD thesis deals with the dispersion and stylistic function of the literature references to the Bible in the drama Adam and Eve of the 20th century Croatian writer, Miroslav Krleža. Th e scope of the text is to point to the elements of Krleža’s literature
that previously went unnoticed, namely, to his widespread utilization of biblical motifs and textual references that play a signifi cant role in his opus. In particular, the circular structure of the drama, interrelations between the sexes, and the relations between Krleža’s text and biblical prototext on Adam and Eve are in the focus of this excerpt.
