The Sabbath in the New Testament
Walter F. Specht
Abstract
Christians accept the New Testament as normative for belief and life. It is therefore of importance to examine what the New Testament has to say about the Sabbath. Th is is especially important since the majority of Christians today regard the Sabbath as Jewish and believe that Jesus and/or His apostles changed the day of rest from the seventh to the
fi rst day, the day on which Christ arose from the dead.
