Abstract

The development of the contemporary international relations has resulted in a proliferation of international organisms, wherein there has been the emergence of new species, such as transgovernmental organizations. Nevertheless, in the international legal doctrine still prevails a view that represents the dichotomy of international organisms to international (intergovernmental) organizations and international non-governmental organizations. The purpose of this paper is to prove the existence of a new kind of international organisms - transgovernmental organizations, and thus point to the "unjustified" mentioned dichotomy. The paper analyzes two transgovernmental organizations - INTERPOL and the Inter-Parliamentary Union, through which attempts to specify the nature of the transgovernmental organizations and accomplish their delimitation from the intergovernmental and international non-governmental organizations.
