Abstract
This paper presents a derivation for geometric locus of meridian curvature centres, on the condition that a meridian is an ellipse
arc. It is a star-shaped curve which mathematicians refer to as an astroid. First, the equation of an ellipse parameterized by latitude is derived, after which the equation of an astroid is derived in parameter and implicit form, from which its semi-axes can be read.
