Abstract

The 2013 rescue excavations at the Zvonimirovo – Veliko polje site were carried out on the central and southern parts of the elevation and yielded two cremation graves of the La Tene culture (LT 100 and LT 101). The grave of a richly furnished woman with items of costume dates the investigated part of the cemetery to the Mokronog IIb phase. A bronze fibula of the Zvonimirovo type and an woven iron chain belt are singled out. The excavation results have reaffirmed the exceptional importance of the Zvonimirovo – Veliko polje site and the necessity of further research, particularly on the previously unexcavated southern part of the elevation.
