Jumping spiders (Araneae: Salticidae) of hygrophilous habitats in Croatia and some of their ecological traits

Abstract
This paper presents the results of research carried out at 19 sites in Croatia between 2010 and 2012, mainly in Podravina, into jumping spider fauna (Araneae: Salticidae) in reed beds. At these sites, transects were made, and by handsearching, four new micro-habitats were found (A, B, C, D) inhabited by distinct arachnocoenoses with a characteristic set of 20 species. Out of these, six species are related, characteristic and stenotopic: Marpissa nivoyi (Lucas, 1846), Marpissa pomatia (Walckenaer, 1802), Marpissa radiata Grube, 1859), Mendoza
canestrinii Ninni, 1868), Sitticus floricola (C., L., Koch, 1837) and Sitticus inexpectus (Logunov & Kronestedt, 1997). The ecological particularities by which they adapted well to these microhabitats are prominent. The other 14 species are additional, mesotopic, and can be present in such habitats but do not have to be, for they have a much broader and non-specific tolerance to diverse habitats.
The species Dendryphantes rudis (Sundevall, 1833), Mendoza canestrinii i Sitticus inexpectus have been discovered for the first time in the Republic of Croatia.
