Abstract

Empirical research of business process orienatation state was conducted in November and December of 2013. in big, middle and small Croatian companies. The main goal was to examine the process information technology practice in Croatian companies. First, using literature analysis, the definition and classification of process information technology in the paper is given. Next, by different statistical methods the level of business informatization of examined companies is determined and the influence of information technology on business process orientation is examined. The research has shown that business process informatization is still inadequate and that process information technology has positive impact on business process orientation. Conclusion is that if Croatian companies want to become and stay competitive, this kind of technology has to become an imperative for them.
