Some theoretical and practical basis of GTAW welding process

Abstract

TIG/GTAW welding is a process, which uses a non-consumable solid tungsten electrode protected from the atmosphere by an inert gas shield or gas mixture. This paper presents a brief history and theoretical basis of the TIG/GTAW welding process, some advantages and disadvantages of process, and review of the practical application.
