Abstract

The paper deals with significance of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and its impact through interpretative principles of the European Court of Human Rights on legal systems of the Council of Europe member states. The paper deals in particular with position of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms in Croatian legislation and the role of the Consitutional Court of the Republic of Croatia in its implementation as well as with applicable case law of the European Court of Human Rights and the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Croatia related to a dynamic relationship between these courts in the implementation of the rights guaranteed by the Convention
