Abstract

The paper theoretically explores definitions of collaboration between parents and teachers, their contemporary forms and the results of a former research on this topic in Croatia. The aim of this paper is to present a form of collaboration between parents and teachers in the Waldorf school, which specifically pays attention to confidential collaboration with parents, who are considered to be co-builders and partners. Results of the research conducted on the sample of 69 parents whose children attend the primary Waldorf school in Zagreb or Rijeka indicate that the parents estimate their collaboration with the Waldorf school, i.e. the teachers, very positively. Factor analysis was used and the following aspects of collaboration between the parents and teachers in the Waldorf school were determined: satisfaction with the school and trust, collaborative relationships, level of information and partnership, involvement in school activities and subjective assessment and responsibility. The results of the conducted research confirmed that there was no statistically significant difference in the parents’ attitudes regarding their sociodemographic characteristics, class which their children attended and years of familiarity with the Waldorf pedagogy.
