Abstract

The intention of this paper is to present some of philosophical and religious perspectives and directions within contemporary Anglo-Saxon (analytic) philosophy. Among these are reformed epistemology, Wittgensteinism, non-realistic, feminist, and pluralistic philosophy of religion. Each of these “schools of thought” aims at interpreting the phenomena of religion in an authentic way, without relying on any confessional (orthodox) interpretation. The article shows that philosophy of religion is a dynamic and above all authentic philosophical discipline which cannot be reduced to any invalid religious apology. Philosophy of religion has its own legitimate place among philosophical disciplines.
