Abstract

Courage in the approach and telling the truth are two foundations of philosophical inquiry. This includes a critique of all those phenomena that have an impact on man and his position in the cosmos. In this article, we examine one of these phenomena, so-called the “utopian mind”. Our wish is to show negative consequences of the “utopian mind” in order to reveal the causes of its appearance. We conclude that the cause of the “utopian mind” could be found in the absence of properly understood courage to be, which is based on humility and overcoming of selfish, narrow interests as they inevitably lead our own existence into nothingness.
