The Legacy of Heidegger’s Being-With in Lacan’s Determination of the Other

Abstract
In this article I have researched the scope of influence of Heidegger’s existential analytic on Lacan’s psychoanalysis. In so doing, I specifically focused on the influence of Heidegger’s existential of being-with on Lacan’s determination of the symbolic discourse of the Other. The article consists of two parts: the first part provides an outline of Heidegger’s notion of being-with, whereas the second part comprises Lacan’s determination of the register of the Symbolic. In order to reach the possibility to elaborate on Heidegger’s existential of being-with and Lacan’s discourse of the Other, it is essential to consider the principal moments of Dasein’s existence in the world and nature of the register of the Symbolic. Comparison of being-with and symbolic discourse of the Other leads to conclusion that in Heidegger’s and Lacan’s notion there are apparent approximations which prove Heidegger’s influence on Lacan.
