Abstract

For an efficient and effective management system (quality, environmental protection, occupational health and safety, food safety, etc.) the tasks, responsibilities, powers and competences of an employee should be precisely defined as a part of a job description. In this way, their participation in achieving the objectives of quality, environment, safety, etc., and full involvement into the operation and improvement of the system are enabled. This results in an increase of motivation and commitment to the organization. These terms and the procedure in the process of defining them are described in the article in a simple way.
