Abstract

Presented are some result of a curriculum research concerning the teacher training in ecology. The research was carried out in 1995 on a sample of 675 informants — nursery school teachers and primary school teachers in the state districts of Primorje — Gorski kotar, Istria and Lika — Senj.
First were analyzed the outgoing curricula of teacher training in ecology. The results show that no planned educational policy concerning teacher training in ecology has been elaborated.
Another issue that was investigated in this research refers to the informants' interests and needs concerning the objectives and contents in environmental education. The results show that there are many conceptual orientations in teacher training in ecology. One of them tends to the health aspect. Another orientation is based upon the biological and psychological and less upon the pedagogical and sociological concept. The stated curriculum concepts give rise to developing of new strategies in teacher training in ecology.
