Abstract

The paper deals with the problem of discontinuous ruck material modelling within the framework of theory of plasticity. The applicability of two models, i.e. Mohr-Coulomb's ideal plasticity and plastic anisotropy (ubiquitous joint model), is examined. Numerical analyses were performed with FLAC - finite difference code. The comparision of above mentioned constitutive models is made through the demonstrated mechanical behaviour in the direct shear test.
