Abstract

32 patients with definite clinical and radiological signs of degenerative knee
arthritis were included in investigation of pulse magnetotherapy effects. The subjective
parameters graded O to 3 points (pain at palpation, passive movement pain,
geting out of bed pain, night pain) were followed-up to evaluate effects of the
therapy. Morning stiffness in minutes and objective parameters (the extent of the
knee joint over the middle of the patella in cm, the range of the motion in grades,
heel-gluteal fold distance in cm) were observed too. The therapy was applicated
30 minutes daily and lasted 14 days. The significant improvement of mean values
of the pain at palpation, passive movement pain, geting out of bed pain and night
pain was gained. The objective parameters mean values have not significantly
changed.
