Abstract
Ergometry test is the most commonly used method in order to assess coronary reserve and cardiopulmonary functional capacity. It is a relatively inexpensive, non-invasive method that provides a lot of information on the cardiovascular system. Encountering every day with patients who had undergone various "revascularization" techniques, and with those with anamnesis of unstable angina pectoris (NAP), we noticed some changes in one part of ergonomics, known as recovery time, which was increasingly affecting the assessment of the positivity of the test. In cardiology clinic Požega County Hospital, we tested ergometry in a total of 3,988 patients and selected 91 patients among them who met the criteria set out in this work in the period from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2014. We chose patients who had achieved more than 80% of functional capacity and were classified in NYHA I class and had previously had negative ergometry. We formed three groups of patients; a group with a history of angina pectoris, with previous dilatation of the coronary arteries, and a group with coronary artery bypass where coronarography or re-coronarography was performed after ergometry. The need for these searches was established through parameters of subsequent leveling, complex cardiac arrhythmias, and subsequent changes in the T wave. The results showed that established parameters were the maximum sensitivity in the group with a history of angina pectoris, nearly 82.7%, while the percentage of the other two groups was significantly lower and ranged from 52.6 to 58%. Considering this outcome, our work suggested a more frequent use of X-ray and isotope imaging technique as a method that would help us in the objectification of findings of ergometry, positive by the criterion of recovery time, before deciding recoronarography.
