Dr>ring the 1932 — 1941 period, Antun Azzgustinčić, then
still a young and quzte unrecognized sculptor, was awarded
a number of p r izes at bot h Yugoslav and international>no>»c»lc»t co»>petitions. A >alysis of social ci rcumstances
then present i n Yugoslav monumental sculpture, and of
artistic concepts of A»gllstinčić s monuments, is used to
