The Impact of Computer Technology on the Development of New Facilities in Modern University Libraries

Abstract
This paper presents the evolution of university libraries from the mediatheques and virtual libraries to learning resource centers. The author describes and explains how the new facilities have been created as a result of the application of computer and communication technology. The conclusion that can be drawn is that university libraries have survived as the physical premises comprising various forms of spatial and computer support for the new ways of learning.
