Abstract

During the years of 2003, 2004 and 2005, rescue surveys were conducted at the location Barrack — Drava and the site of the future building of the Faculty of Agriculture. In the course of 326 work days, archaeological investigations on a surface covering 6500 square meters resulted in discovering architectural and urbanistic elements the most important of which is a road running east-west, which, according to road standards falls into the group of main roads. Six researched architectural finds differ in structure, architectural and constructive elements, spatial organization, dimensions and function.

On the basis of architectural correspondence, multi-layered stratigraphy of the unearthed elements as well as different periods they belong to, it is clear that the shape and function of the spatial and architectural elements changed through time.

The investigated site brings forward the issues of conservation, presentation and interpolation on the site of the Faculty of Agriculture. The multi-layered stratigraphy shows numerous and various movable finds dating from the 1st to the 4th century AD.
