Abstract

This paper discusses the issue of the application of instructional technology in music classes. Taking into account the findings in the field of children’s musical development (music perception, performance, musical preferences and musical creativity), the role of instructional technology in the development of such skills is discussed. The author analyzes examples of musical compositions and animated films through which students acquire a variety of instrumental colors and develop their musical taste (The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, B. Britten; Peter and the Wolf, S. Prokofjev; The Carnival of the Animals, C. Saint-Saëns; Fantasia 1940 and Fantasia 2000, W. Disney). It is emphasized that the use of instructional technology in music education must be a carefully planned methodical procedure.
