Abstract

Cherry leaf roll virus was found in Yugoslavia for the first time, in two plants of elder (Sambucus nigra L.) in Bosnia. The elder isolates produced symptoms typical of cherry leaf roll virus in test plants, and shared some, but not all, their antigenic determinants with strains originally obtained from Eckelrader-diseased cherry (Cadman 1960) or rhubarb (Tomlinson and Walkey 1967).
