Abstract
Wild plant species in the city of Čakovec were investigated at various locations during vegetation season 2015. A total of 94 plant species were recorded and classified into 33 families. The taxonomic analysis of wild plant species recorded in Čakovec showed predominance of the families Asteraceae, Fabaceae and Lamiaceae. Duration of life cycle analysis showed predominance of perennial herbaceous plants and hemicryptophytes dominated in the life form spectrum. Most species were of the Eurasian origin and also widespread cosmopolitan. The most common wild plant species found are those used for medicinal purposes, followed by the plants used as food, decorative wild plants and the honey plants. Most plant species have more useful value.
