Abstract

The effect of atrazine and of two newly synthesized derivatives of ditriazinil sulphides (4-chloro-4’,6-bis(ethylamino)-6’-isopropylamino-di- (s-triazinyl)-sulphide = CTS and 4-chloro-4’,6-bis(isopropylamino)-6’- ethylamino-di-(s-triazinyl)-sulphide = CPS) on the development and changes of fresh and dry weight of Lemna gibba L. and Spirodela polyr- rhiza L. has been investigated.
It has been found that CTS considerably inhibits the growth and the increase of fresh and dry weight of the plants. Its inhibitory effect is, at least in the case of L. gibba stronger than the effect of atrazine (Figs. 1—8.). The results prove that with a higher concentration of the investigated active substances the increase in the number of plants is reduced while the morphological abnormalities become more and more frequent (Figs. 13.—16.).
Although the chemical structure of CPS is very similar to CTS its inhibitory effects is much weaker than that of CTS (Figs. 9.—12).
