Abstract

The weed vegetation of the different hoe cultures (maize, sunflower, potato, sugar-beet and tobacco) have been investigated during the summer 1977. in a number of localities in Eastern Podravina.
On the basis of recent phytocenological investigations the hoe weed vegetation can be devided as follows:
Class: Chenopodietea Br.-Bl. 1952.
Order: Chenopodietalia albi Tx., Lohm. et Prsg. 1950.
Alliance: Eragrostidion Tx. 1950.
Ass. Hibiscus trionum-Eragrostis megastachya Tx. 1950.
Alliance: Polygono-Chenopodion Koch 1926.
Ass. Setaria glauca-Galinsoga parviflora (Tx. et Becker 1942) Tx. 1950.
Ass. Oxalo-Chenopodietum polyspermi Tx. 1950.
Ass. Mentho-Stachyetum (Kovačević 1961) Kojić 1975.
The eastern part of the area investigated belongs to the alliance Eragrostidion, and the western part captures the alliance Polygono- Chenopodion.
The alliance Eragrostidion prevails in the area investigated, which is connected with the climatic factors, and the vegetation records of this alliance are more typical than the ones of the alliance Polygono-Chenopodion.
According to life forms, an increasing number of terophytes and a decreasing number of hemicroptophytes and geophytes (Tab. 5) — the communities can be ranged as follows: Oxalo-Chenopodietum polyspermi, Mentho-Stachyetum palustris, Seteria glauca-Galinsoga parviflora and Hibiscus trionum-Eragrostis megastachya.
