Flora of the Island of Daksa

Abstract

The floristic list of Daksa consists of 225 species and subspecies, 169 genera and 66 families of vascular plants. A total of 224 species have now been recorded on the island for the first time. The group of Dicotylédones (165) is the most numerously represented, as are the families Fabaceae (36) and Poaceae (30).
The plants of the Mediterranean floristic element (56.45%) dominate in the flora, while the therophytes (41.33%) prevail in the spectrum of life forms. The flora of the island of Daksa is Mediterranean in character.
