Abstract

On the territory of the Plitvice Lakes National Park in composition of one part of swamp grassland vegetation, the plant species Ligularia sibirica is established. This is the first finding of that species in the flora of Croatia and Yugoslavia, which deserves special regard. This species develops in similar habitats and floristic composition in Central Europe and the western Carpathians.
Ligularia sibirica in the Plitvice Lakes National Park is in very good condition and extends in this place on the surface of 2000 m longitudinally and about 100—300 m in width. The plants are vital, with exuberant leaves, tall stems, very nice and abundant inflorescence.
