Plant-sociological Investigations of the Ass. Carici-Centaureetum rupestris Ht. 1931 (Saturejon subspicatae) on the Mountain of Kozjak near Split (Croatia)

Abstract

The pasture land community Carici-Centaureetum rupestris, as is known, is one of the most important grassland plant communities of the Mediterranean montane belt of the littoral slopes of the Dinarides.
This paper presents the results of plantsociological investigations of the ass. Carici-Centaureetum rupestris on the mountain of Kozjak near Split.
In the populations studied of the ass. Carici-Centaureetum rupestris from Kozjak 75 species have been registered in 5 plant-sociological records.
From the plant-geographical point of view, the Kozjak-populations of the ass. Carici-Centaureetum rupestris belong to the south-eastern variant of the species Serratula cetinjensis.
